Helping your child log in to the app
If your child has a device and would like to use the Monzo app, there are a couple of ways you can help them log in.
You must create an account for them first. They can’t create an account by themselves.
Once you’ve done that, they can log in on their device using either email or login QR code.
You’ll first need to add an email address for your child.
To check, add, or edit your child’s email address connected to Monzo:
Go to the Under 16s account in your app.
Tap the 3 dots on their card.
Go to Manage account and then Add an email.
Your child can then:
Download the Monzo app.
Tap I already have an account on the Welcome to Monzo screen.
Enter their email address and follow the steps to log in.
Login QR code
If your child doesn’t have an email, or you’d prefer not to use one, you can help them log in using the login QR code. The login QR code acts like a key to let them into the account.
Make sure they’ve downloaded the Monzo app on their device before you begin.
You can then:
Go to the Under 16s account in your app.
Tap the 3 dots on their card.
Go to Show login QR code.
Follow the steps and show the login QR code to your child.
Meanwhile, your child can:
Open the Monzo app.
Tap I already have an account on the Welcome to Monzo screen.
Under Under 16s, tap the QR login button
Follow the steps and scan the login QR code using the camera.
They can then follow the steps to log in to the account.
Don’t see the QR login button?
Has your child tapped I already have an account on the Welcome to Monzo screen, but can’t see the Under 16s QR login button?
They can use their device’s camera to scan the login QR code instead.
They’ll need to open their device’s camera app, scan the QR code, then follow the steps to log in.
