Adding a statement descriptor in Stripe

You can customise the information that appears on your customers' bank statement

After a customer places an order with you, Stripe sends basic information about your business and the purchase to your customer's bank.

Depending on the format their bank uses, a combination of the following identifiers will appear on your customer's bank statement:

  • Your business name

  • Your website URL

  • Your business location

  • Your phone number

Follow the steps below to customise the text that appears on your customers' statement:

  • Login to your Stripe dashboard

  • Head to settings (the cog in the top right)

  • In 'Business settings', click 'Public details'

  • Edit the 'Statement descriptor' and 'Shortened descriptor'

  • Once you're done, hit 'Save' at the bottom of the page

If you hover over, or tap on, the information icon on the right, you'll see a preview of what the descriptors looks like on your customers statement.
