How to add VAT number to an invoice
If your business is VAT registered, it is your responsibility to be compliant with relevant HMRC regulation.
VAT invoice requirements
When creating an invoice you'll see a few options
Not applicable - this is for non-VAT registered businesses, if you're not required to charge VAT on your sales.
0% VAT, 5% VAT or 20% VAT - these options will add that amount to each item on your invoice.
VAT Exempt - this is if you are a VAT registered business, but the particular item on the invoice doesn't incur any VAT.
If you need help on whether or not your business needs to be VAT registered, you can read more on the Gov website.
