How do I add my accountant to Monzo's Making Tax Digital for Income Tax tool?

If you want to get your accountant to complete the filings to HMRC for your business under Making Tax Digital for Income Tax using Monzo's submission tool, you will need to add the accountant to your Monzo business account as a Collaborator.

Collaborators do have their own debit card, so they can make payments and bank transfers, withdraw money, view or export statements and help with other finance tasks. They can also add tax categories, split transactions and log manual transactions on Monzo's Making Tax Digital for Income Tax submission tool.

Collaborators cannot set up Monzo's Making Tax Digital for Income Tax tool, and they cannot submit quarterly updates to HMRC using Monzo's submission tool either, so the account Admin will still need to complete these actions.

Before adding your accountant to your Monzo Business account, its worth thinking about whether you would like them to have that level of access to the account, and it might be worth asking your accountant if they already have software for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax which allows them to submit information to HMRC on your behalf.

If you'd still like to add your accountant to your Monzo Business account as a Collaborator so that they can support you with Making Tax Digital for Income Tax, please follow this guidance
