Closing the Under 16s Account when they have passed away
We are deeply sorry for your loss. We understand that managing arrangements after the death of a loved one is incredibly difficult, and we are here to support you through this process.
🫂 Getting Started
The Under 16s account is linked to your main Monzo account, which makes the closing process straightforward. You have two main options for proceeding with the closure:
Close the Account Yourself: As the account is an extension of your own, you can close the account yourself in the app.
Move any money you have in Child Pots back to your main balance
Transfer any money in your child's Under 16s account elsewhere so the balance is £0.00
Monzo Assisted Closure: If you would prefer that our specialised team manage the closure for you, we are happy to help. To request assistance, please email our Life Events team: Email: bereavements@monzo.com. A member of our team will pick up your email and support you through the process, ensuring it is as simple as possible.
