Sending money Monzo to Monzo

There are a few different ways to instantly send money from your Monzo account to another Monzo account.

If they're nearby, try Nearby Friends

Nearby Friends lets you pay people through Bluetooth.

  • Make sure you both have Bluetooth switched on

  • Tap the Payments icon in the menu bar

  • Both tap Nearby Friends, then tap your friend's name when it pops up

  • Send the money 💸

If they're not nearby

You can send a Monzo to Monzo payment in seconds.

  • Tap the Payments icon in the menu bar

  • Tap Pay with Friends to give the Monzo app access to your contacts

  • Search for your friend's name

  • Send the money 💸

You can also send a regular bank transfer from your Payments screen or You could also try sharing your QR Code. To do this:

  • Check that you’re findable by ensuring you have toggled on “QR code or payment link” in your Profile privacy

  • Tap the Payments icon in the menu bar

  • Tap the QR code icon at the top right beside the magnifying glass or by tapping on Request money and then choosing By QR Code or link

  • Enter the amount or leave that up to them

They'll then be able to use their phone's camera or a QR code scanner to scan this and make the payment 😊
