How do I block someone on Monzo?
If you’re receiving unwanted payments, payment requests or messages, you can block someone in the Monzo app.
Here’s how:
In your transaction feed tap on a payment or request, scroll down and tap ‘Block, or
Head to the Payments tab, select a Payee and tap ‘Block.’
When you block someone, they won’t:
be able to pay or request money from you using Monzo-to-Monzo payments (from their Personal Account or Joint Account, if they have one)
be told that you’ve blocked them
They can still:
see you as a Monzo contact (but any payments or requests won’t go through)
see requests on Shared Tabs you have together (but they won’t be able to pay you)
You also won’t be able to use Monzo-to-Monzo payments to pay or request money from the person you’ve blocked.
Any existing payment requests will still show in your app. You can decline them but you won’t be able to pay them while the person is blocked. You can unblock someone in the app any time.
What to do if you need more support
We have a specialist team to help you if you're experiencing any difficulties, like financial abuse.
When you block someone, we’ll ask if you want to share more with us about what’s happened. If you choose to share, someone from the team will reach out to you. Everything is confidential and we won’t share any information outside Monzo.
