Who can manage a Junior ISA?

A Junior ISA has one registered contact. They’re the person responsible for managing the account on the child’s behalf.

If you’re the registered contact, you can:

  • see the balance and how the investments are performing

  • manage how the money is invested

  • invite friends and family to contribute

  • manage the Junior ISA in the Monzo app

There can only be one registered contact at a time. And although they manage the account, the money and investments belong to the child.

Can another parent or guardian see the Junior ISA?

You can add another eligible parent or guardian to the Junior ISA. They can:

  • see the balance, investments and performance

  • see contributions

  • add money

  • share the gifting link with friends and family

They won’t become the registered contact, so there are some things they can’t do.

They can’t:

  • change how the money is invested

  • transfer the Junior ISA to another provider

  • add or remove another parent or guardian

  • make other changes that only the registered contact can make
