Gifting money to a Junior ISA
Family and friends can add money to your child’s Junior ISA - for birthdays, special occasions or just because.
As the person managing the Junior ISA, you can invite other people to contribute by sharing a gifting link.
Sharing a gifting link
Share your child’s gifting link with family and friends and they can use it to add money to their Junior ISA.
They don’t need to have a Monzo account to contribute.
Who does the money belong to?
Once someone adds money to a Junior ISA, it belongs to the child - not the person who sent it or the person managing the account.
It can’t be taken out until the child turns 18.
Gifts count towards the Junior ISA allowance
Money from family and friends counts towards the same annual Junior ISA allowance as any money you add yourself.
If your child also has a Junior Cash ISA, contributions to that count towards the same allowance too.
You can keep track of how much of your child’s allowance has been used, and how much is left, in the Monzo app.
