Now trending: your money

From today you’ll start to see a brand new tab at the bottom of your screen in the Monzo app, designed to help you discover more about your money patterns across your accounts.

The better you understand your money, the more it’ll do for you

Trends makes sense of your spending and saving patterns across your Monzo and non-Monzo accounts (more on that in a sec) so you know to make changes, or to keep doing what you’re doing.

Think of it as a check-up for your financial health that’s only ever one tap away.

Today it shows you a clear breakdown of your money

For this initial launch Trends shows you a clean, combined breakdown of the money coming in and out of your accounts. See what you’ve spent and where by toggling different accounts on and off, and explore previous months by hitting the calendar icon.

If you don’t see the new tab in your app immediately, don’t worry. We’ll be rolling it out gradually to make sure it’s working smoothly for everyone.

The more accounts you add, the more you get out of it

The beauty of Trends is it lets you layer up your accounts to see a combined breakdown of your spending and your outgoings. And that’s not just between your Monzo personal account and your Monzo joint account. It’s for your non-Monzo accounts too.

Two app screens, one showing multiple accounts selected in the account selection screen in Trends, the other showing the Trends homepage.

When you sign up to Monzo Plus and Monzo Premium you can add your other bank accounts and credit cards, like Barclays and American Express, to see your account’s activity in the Monzo app.

And when you have non-Monzo accounts added, the information you see in Trends is even richer because you get a complete view of your entire financial life, right there in the Monzo app.

Monzo Plus has a 3-month minimum term and Monzo Premium has a 6-month minimum term. You need to be 18 to get Monzo Plus and be between 18 and 69 to get Monzo Premium. Some exclusions apply.

The aim is for Trends to give you in-depth insights

We’ve got big plans for Trends. In time it’ll become even more powerful, giving you detailed analysis of just about everything to do with your money management across all your accounts.

As ever, we love hearing your feedback so please, please tell us what you think. We read all the responses we get. It’s the only way to make sure we create something you’ll genuinely love.

Eventually Trends will replace Summary

Don’t worry though, we’ll only take Summary away when Trends does everything Summary does, and more. We know a lot of you rely on Summary and you get a lot of value out of it. Whatever changes we make will give you more value, not take it away.
