Under 16s Privacy Notice

This notice explains how and why we use information about you when you use Monzo. You can read this with your parents or guardians and ask them if you’ve got any questions.

About us 👋

We’re Monzo Bank Limited — you can call us Monzo.

What information we need about you 👀

We need information about you so that you can use Monzo. We collect information like:

  • Your name and date of birth

  • Your phone number, email address and where you live

  • When and where you pay for something and how much you spend

Why we use your information 🔍

We use your information to:

  • Add you to your parent or guardian’s Under 16s account

  • Help you spend, save and move money

  • Keep the account and your information safe

  • Talk to you about the account

  • Help improve Monzo

Things you can ask us ❓

You can ask us:

  • For a copy of your information

  • To correct information that is wrong

  • To review a decision that’s been made without a human – for example, if we stop a payment

  • To delete or stop using your information – we can't always do this, but when we can we will

If you’re under 13, your parent or guardian will need to ask us. If you're 13 or above, your parent or guardian can ask us and we’ll check if this is okay with you first. Or you can contact us using the details below.

If you ask us any of these things, we have a month to respond.

Who we share your information with 🤝

The parent or guardian who opened the account for you can see how much money is in the account and your spending.

We share your information with other companies that help our services to work, and when it helps to keep you or your money safe.

We also share your information with companies when you spend money on your card.

How long we keep your information 📁

We keep your information as long as you’re using Monzo, and for 10 years after that. We’ll delete your data when we don’t need it anymore.
