How we can support you in setting up Third-Party access to your Bank Account

Sometimes, now or in the future, you or someone else might need a little help managing your finances.

There might come a time when you need support with your account, whether it’s because of a serious health issue, a change in decision-making abilities, or just planning ahead for when a helping hand might be needed.

Giving someone access to your bank account is a big step, but it can be crucial for looking after your own or a loved one’s financial wellbeing.

Not sure which type of authority is right for you

A third-party mandate is a document that allows a trusted person or group (called a third party) to have access to your bank account. There are a range of third-party options to consider, such as a Lasting Power of Attorney, Deputy Court Order, or Informal Third Party Access. The Citizens Advice website is a fantastic resource to help guide your decision.

Take a moment to choose the option that suits you best, both now and for the future. Don’t worry if things change—you can always switch it up later. Remember, each part of the UK has its own legal documents, so make sure you pick one that matches your area’s rules.
