Contactless doesn't work

You need to activate your Monzo card in the app. It's rare, but sometimes contactless doesn't activate.

If contactless doesn’t work.

  1. Check your card is activated in the app.

  2. Try making a chip and PIN transaction using your card.

If contactless still isn't working, you can order a replacement in the app.

  1. Tap the Home icon in the menu bar.

  2. Tap the Freeze button under your Monzo card (if you can't find these buttons, swipe down on your list of payments).

  3. Tap the Replace button under your Monzo card.

If your card is faulty or damaged when it arrives, we'll cover the cost of the replacement. Please get in touch to speak with our team about this.
