To be eligible for cashback you’ll need to be a UK resident with an open Monzo personal current account.
How it works
You’ll earn cashback based on your eligible spend at a participating retailer or based on eligible spend in a particular category. The details of each offer, including the value and any other conditions, will be available in the app by clicking on the relevant offer. By selecting an offer you agree to those terms.
You'll earn cashback once your transaction goes through. This can happen instantly, but some merchants may take longer to collect. Once you've earned cashback we'll pay the amount into your Cashback Pot within 30 days. From time to time and at Monzo's discretion we may pay you cashback before your transaction goes through.
There’s a cap on the cashback you can earn in a rolling 28 day period, which you’ll be notified about in the app.
Where a transaction is reversed, refunded or cancelled you won’t earn cashback. If we’ve already paid you the cashback, we’ll recover it from your Cashback Pot or current account.
Eligible spending
Cashback will apply to your spending on any Monzo card linked to your Monzo personal account, joint account and Flex, as long as your current account remains open. This includes both physical and virtual cards.
We’ll pay cashback earned on your joint account spend to your own Cashback Pot. The other joint account holder's spend is not eligible.
Spending on business accounts isn't eligible for cashback, but if we add these in the future we’ll let you know via our usual channels.
How we use your data
To offer you rewards like cashback which are relevant to you we may need to share your transaction history with retailers and reward partners. We’ll ‘de-identify’ it, meaning we’ll replace or remove information that can be used to identify you (like your name and address) so our partners can’t match your transaction history to your identity.
Monzo and its partners will analyse your transactions so we can offer you relevant rewards. We’ll also analyse and measure your transactions and how you interact with each offer.
You can choose to receive rewards marketing. If you choose not to, or later object to rewards marketing, you won’t get emails or push notifications about personalised rewards, but you’ll still see offers that are relevant to you in the app.
See ‘The information we hold about you and how we use it’ section in our Data Privacy Notice for more information.
The small print (in normal size)
Our Monzo current account terms and conditions also apply. If these terms and conditions are inconsistent with our current account terms and conditions on the same issue, then these terms and conditions will apply.
We can change these terms or withdraw a reward at any time. We may need to do this if we’ve used up the money we’ve allocated to rewards, if we change partners or if any of our partners make changes or no longer support rewards. If we update these terms we’ll let you know via our usual channels.
We can recover from your Cashback Pot or current account any cashback that was paid to you in error, resulted from your fraud, or resulted from you misusing or gaming the offer. If we reasonably suspect any fraud or misuse by you relating to rewards, or if you breach these terms, we can disqualify you from rewards and any future offers.
English law applies to these terms and any dispute arising out of them.
