Switching off your overdraft

You can switch off your overdraft at any time.

Bear in mind you won’t be able to switch your overdraft off if you’re using it at the time. Also, if your credit file's changed since you took out your overdraft, you may not be able to turn it back on after you disable it.

Here's how to switch off your overdraft in the app:

  1. Tap Home in the Monzo app

  2. Tap the three dots on the current account card

  3. Select the Overdrafts option

  4. You’ll see the option to reduce your limit to £0 from here

If you'd prefer we removed your overdraft entirely so you can't switch it back on, please get in touch with us in the app:

  • Tap the Help icon in the menu bar

  • Search ‘Switching off your overdraft’

  • Tap Get in touch
