Switching from Monzo Premium to Max and what it means for your cover
When you move from Monzo Premium to Max you keep your phone insurance and travel insurance, and you add breakdown cover.
Let's look at what happens to your phone insurance and travel insurance when you move to Max.
Existing claims Any existing claims you already have open will be unaffected and continue to be linked to your Monzo Premium policy numbers.
Travel insurance claims You’ll get a new travel insurance policy ID for Max.
If you choose to pay an extra £5 a month for family phone, travel and breakdown cover, your family members are covered under your policy ID. They don't get their own ones. Remember, your family members are only covered if you add them to the policy.
If you need your Premium policy ID you can get it in the app – you'll need to scroll down to the section about your cover.

Monzo Max or Max + Family claims: Click here and tap "Make a claim"
If you claim via monzo.qover.com you'll need to choose either Premium or Max depending on when the event you're claiming for happened.
Phone insurance claims You’ll get a new phone insurance policy number for Max.
If you already have an account with Assurant, then you can still log in with your existing username and password. You’ll have to register your phone again but you can also do it at the point of making a claim.
If you choose to pay an extra £5 a month for family phone, travel and breakdown cover, your family members are only covered if you add them to the policy. They don't need to create their own Assurant accounts. For now, you can register family members' phones in advance but you can at the point of making a claim.
We recommend that you note down their phone details.
