Adding a family member to an Under 16s account
Family members need to have a Monzo account. You can add someone you share a joint account with, but you don’t need to share a joint account to add someone as a family member.
To add a family member, the person you want to add will need to be findable by phone number. To check their settings, they’ll need to:
Go to Settings
Go to Privacy & security
Go to Profile privacy and then Phone number. Make sure it’s turned on.
To add a family member:
Go to the Under 16s account in your app.
Tap the 3 dots on their card.
Go to Manage account.
Under Helping with this account you’ll find Add a family member.
If you have multiple children, you’ll then be able to select which children the family member can help with.
If you share a joint account with someone, we’ll ask if you’d like to invite them. Want to invite someone else? Select No, invite someone else.
If you want to add someone you don’t share a joint account with, we’ll show you your Monzo contacts. You might need to Enable contacts if you haven’t already.
Follow the instructions to send them an invitation.
Can’t find the person you’re looking to invite? Make sure they’re findable by phone number first.
