Payments from Pots on a business account
Can I make payments from Pots connected to a business account?
Yes, you can make regular payments (like Direct Debits and standing orders) directly from one of your Pots instead of from your main account.
To do that, you’ll need to first set up your Direct Debit or standing order. Then:
tap the Home icon in the app’s menu bar
scroll down to your Pots
tap on the Pot you want to pay money from
tap ‘Set up’ or ‘Edit’ next to Scheduled payments
Pick which payments you’d like to pay from the Pot
That’s it. When your bill’s due, it’ll come out of the Pot.
Paying online from Pots with Monzo Business Pro
With Monzo Business Pro or Team you can link virtual cards to a Pot and use that to pay online, for example for subscriptions.
To set this up, you have two options.
Option 1:
tap the Pot
scroll down and tap Add new card next to Virtual card (you can’t add an existing virtual card to a Pot this way – you’ll need to create a new one)
Option 2:
tap the [Home] icon in your app’s menu bar
go to Virtual cards
tap Create virtual card
tap ‘Pay from’ and choose any of your open Pots
then tap Create. Your card will be automatically linked to the Pot you’ve chosen
Just so you know, if you pull your Monzo Business transactions through Open Banking (e.g. to Quickbooks), it’ll now include Virtual Cards on Pots transactions. But these won’t be shown in your ‘overall account balance’.
