Sending Ukrainian Hryvnia (UAH) payments

This guide is to help you with sending UAH payments. It has all the information you need to know, including when you can usually expect it to arrive and what you can do if it doesn’t.

Can I send UAH payments to a business?

No, you can only send UAH payments to an individual.

Is the name I use on a payment checked?

No. As there are no name checks, it's really important that you use the correct account number. If the incorrect account number is used and it belongs to someone else, the payment will still go through.

What details do I need to use?

  • Recipient type (Person)

  • Full recipient name

  • IBAN


  • Recipient country

  • Recipient city

  • Recipient address

  • Reference (optional, up to 35 characters)

How much money can I send?

If you’re sending to a PrivatBank account You can send up to ₴399,999 per transfer and per month.

If you’re sending to any other bank You can send up to ₴29,999 per transfer.

How long will my payment take?

Most payments arrive within 1 hour, and nearly all arrive within 6 hours.

In some cases, because of bank holidays or if there are any extra checks on the payment it can take up to 1 working day.

You can see how long we expect your payment to take before you send it in the app, and after you’ve sent it by tapping it in your feed.

How will my payment be sent?

We’ll send your payment as a local bank transfer through PrivatBank or the System of Electronic Payments (SEP) network with partner banks in Ukraine, depending on what bank you’re sending the payment to.

When do I have to make a payment for it to be sent out on the same day?

There is no cut off time. Any payment you make will go out on the same day you send it.

Can I recall a payment I made by mistake?

Yes, but only if the payment was sent to a PrivatBank account.

Other useful information

  • We can’t send payments to email addresses at the moment.

  • Because of global sanctions we can’t send payments to Crimea, Sevastopol, Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk or Zaporizhzhia.
