Sending Turkish Lira (TRY) payments

This guide is to help you with sending TRY payments. It has all the information you need to know, including when you can usually expect it to arrive and what you can do if it doesn’t.

Can I send TRY payments to a business?

Yes, you can send TRY payments to an individual or a business.

Is the name I use on a payment checked?

Yes. It’s really important that you use the correct account number. If the incorrect account number is used and it belongs to someone else, the payment will likely be returned.

What details do I need to use?

  • Recipient type (Person/Business)

  • Full recipient name (up to 50 characters, accented character accepted)

  • IBAN (26 characters, starting with TR)

  • Recipient country

  • Reference (optional, up to 35 characters)

How much money can I send?

You can send up to ₺9,999,999 per transfer during the week before 17:00 TRT and ₺100,000 per transfer on weekdays after 17:00 TRT and weekends.

How long will my payment take?

Most payments arrive within 1 hour, and nearly all arrive within 1 working day.

In some cases, because of bank holidays or if there are any extra checks on the payment it can take up to 2 working days.

You can see how long we expect your payment to take before you send it in the app, and after you’ve sent it by tapping it in your feed.

How will my payment be sent?

We’ll send your payment as a local bank transfer through the Fonların Anlık ve Sürekli Transferi (FAST) or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) networks with partner banks in Turkey.

If you’re sending to a personal account and the payment is over ₺20,000 or a business account and the payment is over ₺50,000, we’ll send it through EFT.

When do I have to make a payment for it to be sent out on the same day?

Payments must be made before 11:00 GMT to go out on the same day.

Can I recall a payment I made by mistake?

Yes, if you’ve used the wrong name/account number or if you think it’s fraud. Let us know right away so we can help.

Other useful information

  • Due to Turkish regulations, we can’t send payments to savings accounts. Turkish banks will reject these transfers.

  • We send out some transfers as electronic funds transfers (EFT), so make sure the recipient’s bank can accept them.
