Sending Singapore Dollar (SGD) payments
This guide is to help you with sending SGD payments. It has all the information you need to know, including when you can usually expect it to arrive and what you can do if it doesn’t.
Can I send SGD payments to a business?
✅ Yes, you can send SGD payments to an individual or a business.
Is the name I use on a payment checked?
❌ No. As there are no name checks, it's really important that you use the correct account number. If the incorrect account number is used and it belongs to someone else, the payment will still go through.
What details do I need to use?
If you’re sending via Local bank account
Recipient type (Person/Business)
Full recipient name (up to 34 characters, A-Z only)
Bank name
Account number
Recipient country
If you're sending via PayNow
Recipient type (Person/Business)
Full recipient name (up to 35 characters, A-Z only)
Mobile number or Unique Entity Number (UEN)
Recipient country
How much money can I send?
You can send up to S$200,000 per transfer.
How long will my payment take?
Most payments arrive within seconds, and nearly all arrive within 6 hours.
In some cases, because of bank holidays or if there are any extra checks on the payment it can take up to 1 working day.
You can see how long we expect your payment to take before you send it in the app, and after you’ve sent it by tapping it in your feed.
How will my payment be sent?
We’ll send your payment as a local bank transfer through the Fast and Secure Transfers (FAST) network with partner banks in Singapore.
When do I have to make a payment for it to be sent out on the same day?
If you’re sending via Local bank account Payments must be made before 08:00 GMT to go out on the same day.
If you're sending via PayNow There is no cut off time. Any payment you make will go out on the same day you send it.
Can I recall a payment I made by mistake?
✅ Yes, but only if you think it’s fraud. Let us know right away so we can help.
