Sending Hungarian Forint (HUF) payments
This guide is to help you with sending HUF payments. It has all the information you need to know, including when you can usually expect it to arrive and what you can do if it doesn’t.
Can I send HUF payments to a business?
✅ Yes, you can send HUF payments to an individual or a business.
Is the name I use on a payment checked?
❌ No. As there are no name checks, it's really important that you use the correct account number. If the incorrect account number is used and it belongs to someone else, the payment will still go through.
What details do I need to use?
If you’re sending via Local bank account
Recipient type (Person/Business)
Full recipient name
Hungarian local (24 characters, if the number is 16 digits we'll add 8 zeros to the end of it)
Recipient country
Reference (optional, up to 140 characters)
If you’re sending via IBAN
Recipient type (Person/Business)
Full recipient/business name
IBAN (up to 28 characters, starting with HU)
Recipient country
Reference (optional, up to 140 characters)
How much money can I send?
You can send up to 300,000,000Ft per transfer.
How long will my payment take?
Most payments arrive within seconds, and nearly all arrive within 6 hours.
In some cases, because of bank holidays or if there are any extra checks on the payment it can take up to 1 working day.
You can see how long we expect your payment to take before you send it in the app, and after you’ve sent it by tapping it in your feed.
How will my payment be sent?
We’ll send your payment as a local bank transfer through the Azonnali Fizetési Rendszer (AFR) GIRO or Valós Idejű Bruttó Elszámolási Rendszer (VIBER) networks with partner banks in Hungary.
If your payment is over 20,000,000Ft, we’ll send it through GIRO.
If the payment is over 50,000,000Ft, we’ll send it through VIBER.
When do I have to make a payment for it to be sent out on the same day?
There is no cut off time. Any payment you make will go out on the same day you send it.
Can I recall a payment I made by mistake?
✅ Yes, if you’ve used the wrong name/account number or if you think it’s fraud. Let us know right away so we can help.
⏰ We can only send the recall within 30 days of them receiving the payment.
