My Virtual Card is expiring

Virtual cards expiring

Virtual cards last for 5 years before they will expire. The card will expire at the start of its expiry month, rather than the end.

When the expiry month of one of your virtual cards is approaching, we'll let you know in app that you need to take action. You'll have the option to:

  • Approve the renewal of your card. This will allow you to keep the same long card number, but will replace the expiry date and security code.

  • Delete the card – either immediately, or for a set date before it expires.

If you don't take any action, we won't automatically renew the details on the date of expiration, and you'll need to recreate the card if you want to continue to use it in the future.

Remember to update your card details if they're saved anywhere.

How will I know when my card is due to expire?

You can check the month and year your virtual card is due to expire in the app. Just head to your cards and tap on the one you need to check.

In the card details, you'll see the month and year that your card will expire.

If your card is due to expire within the next 30 days, you'll see the following in your app:

  • ‘Renew card’ overlay button on the expiring virtual card

  • ‘Expiring MM/YY’ section

If your card is due to expire within 14 days, you'll also see a message confirming your card is expiring soon.
