Max Family: Making a claim as a family member

Useful information for family members

Family members are covered under the main account holder’s Max plan if they are either:

  • Partner living at the same address (you don’t have to be married)

  • Dependant children who are 19 or younger (or 21 or younger if in full-time education)

Family travel insurance

Multi-trip cover for cancellation up to £5,000, medical bills up to £10m, lost valuables up to £750, winter sports, a car hire excess waiver up to £3,000, and more. Provided by Zurich and powered by Qover.

If you need to make a claim The policy holder has to do it on your behalf in their Monzo app by clicking here and tapping "Make a claim". In case of emergency you can call +44(0)3308085209. You’ll need to provide your legal first and last name but it’s also handy to know the Policy ID. This will speed up the verification process.

Family phone insurance

Protect your phone and accessories from loss, theft and accidental damage, including cracked screens. For phones worth up to £2,000 (including VAT) and accessories up to £300, like headphones and chargers. Provided by Assurant.

If you need to make a claim The policy holder has to do it on your behalf via their Assurant account online. We recommend making a note of your phone’s details and keeping proof of purchase:

  • IMEI number

  • Manufacturer

  • Model

  • Purchase receipt

Family breakdown cover in the UK & Europe

Family members get what's called 'personal cover' – this means you're covered as individuals, rather than a vehicle being covered. For example, if you go on holiday, rent a car and something happens then you’re still eligible to request help from RAC. Provided by RAC.
