Why are the terms and conditions of my policy different at renewal?

We know it can be confusing to see changes to your policy at renewal when your own circumstances haven't changed, so we want to be clear about why this happens.

Insurers occasionally update their terms to clarify what is covered and ensure the policy continues to meet customer expectations.

Here are a couple of reasons why we’ve updated your terms and conditions:

Clarifying what’s covered: We’ve clarified a few specific clauses in the wording that customers told us were confusing. For example, we’ve provided more specific information about what circumstances a bicycle is covered outside of the home.

Adapting to the type of incidents we’ve seen: We’ve made some changes to the coverage and excess amounts for a few specific claim types based on what we’ve seen over the past year.

Your policy document has the full details, so make sure you read this carefully to ensure that the cover still meets your needs.
