Switching your joint account

You can easily switch your accounts to Monzo - including your joint account.

What is the Current Account Switch Service?

It’s a non-profit organisation that lets people move quickly and easily between bank accounts. No trips to the bank. No messing with IDs and statements.

You just tell us when you want to switch, and we'll get it done in 7 working days. We’ll move your money and payments (like Direct Debits and standing orders), and close down your old account for you.

What accounts can I switch to Monzo?

You can switch any of these:

  • Current accounts

  • Joint accounts (as long as you’re not trying to switch an old joint account to a Monzo Current Account)

  • Business accounts (you can switch both sole trader and Limited Company accounts to a Monzo Business Account)

What will I need to be able to switch?

You’ll need these things:

  • The account number and sort code of the account you want to switch from

  • The last 5 digits of your old account's card

  • The last 5 digits of your partner's old card

How do I switch in the app?

If you’re using our new app layout:

  • Tap the Home icon on the menu bar

  • Tap the blue + button at the top right hand corner

  • Select Switch to Monzo and follow the process

If you’re using an older app layout:

  • Tap the Home tab at the bottom of the app

  • Tap on the three dots on the account you want to switch to

  • Tap Switch to Monzo and follow the process
