Information about Get Paid fees
How much will I pay in fees for taking customer payments?
Easy bank transfers
Easy bank transfers are free until 2026.
We won’t charge your customers any extra either – they’ll only pay the amount you charge them.
Money from easy bank transfers should arrive in your Monzo Business account straight away. But it can take up to 24 hours.
Easy bank transfers are powered by the Faster Payments Scheme.
Card payments
The fees for this depend on whether your customers are using contactless payments in person, or online using an invoice or payment link.
For online card transactions, our partner Stripe will charge you:
£0.20 + 1.5% for standard UK cards
£0.20 + 1.9% for premium UK cards
£0.20 + 2.5% for cards from the European Economic Area
£0.20 + 3.25% for all other cards
Standard UK cards include cards from Visa, Mastercard and other major providers. Premium cards are commercial, corporate or business cards issued by Visa and Mastercard. You can find out more about this on Stripe’s website.
For contactless card transactions, Stripe will charge you:
£0.20 + 1.4% for European cards (that includes the UK)
£0.20 + 2.9% for all other cards
Stripe will take these fees before the money arrives in your Monzo Business account (or any other bank account you’ve chosen to get paid from Stripe). Learn more about Stripe’s fees.
Here’s an example of how those fees might look in real life for online card payments:
your customer pays £20 online using a standard UK card – you’ll get £19.50 in your account (£20 - £0.20 -1.5% x £20)
your customer pays £100 online using a European card – you’ll get £97.30 in your account (£100 - £0.20 -2.5% x £100)
your customer pays £50 online with a non-European/non-UK card – you’ll get £48.17 in your account (£50 -£0.20 -3.25% x £50)
And here’s how it might look for in-person contactless payments:
your customer pays £10 in person using a contactless European card – you’ll get £9.66 in your account (£10 -£0.20 -1.4% x £10) Just so you know, we don’t charge any fees on top of Stripe’s – but they do pay us commission.
How long will it take to get the money?
It’ll take 7-–4 days for the first card payment you accept to come through (depending on if Stripe runs extra checks).
Payment links
We won’t charge you or your customers any fees for using payment links you send them – they’ll only pay the amount you charge them.
