How do I transfer to a Monzo Pension?
Great to hear that you want to combine your old pensions using a Monzo Pension.
Once you’ve opened your pension with us, you’ll see the option to find and transfer old pensions. You can transfer as many pensions as you like.
The info we need
We’ll ask you for some details relating to your old pensions. Don’t worry if you can’t remember all the information, we’ll still try and find them for you. We’ve teamed up with Raindrop, who are pension finding experts and they’ll help us try and find your old pension(s). Raindrop may contact your employer or provider in order to locate your old pension(s). Your current provider will also send you letters and emails about what’s happening. Don’t worry, this is normal when transferring a pension.
The more details you can give us, the quicker we’ll be able to find your pension(s).
Pensions we can and can’t transfer:
You can transfer:
pensions from an old job and ones you’ve set up yourself (or both)
You can’t transfer:
your current workplace pension
pensions you’ve already taken money from
pensions with safeguarded benefits
How do I transfer to a Monzo Pension?
To start transferring your old pension(s), follow the steps below.
Go to your Monzo Pension in your app
Click ‘Transfer an old pension’
Follow the instructions and provide the details you can
What happens when you’ve found my old pension(s)?
We’ll contact your previous pension provider
Your pension provider will sell your investments and transfer as cash
This will be invested into your Monzo Pension 🎉
Your previous provider may be in touch with you to ask you some questions about your transfer. This is to make sure that the pension scheme you’re transferring to is legitimate and to make sure your pension will be safe.
We’ll let you know in the app when the transfer is complete!
