Monzo Business is now open for (bigger) small businesses

It’s been more than 4 years since we launched our business bank account including the Monzo Business Pro and Monzo Business Lite plans: banking designed to help sole traders and small businesses stay on top of their finances. And today, we’re introducing a third, new Team plan – business banking that makes light work of everyone’s admin.


With the arrival of Team, Monzo Business opens its doors to bigger small businesses with a host of brand new features that claim back lost time for business owners and managers, but also everyone else they work with. 

Team includes employee expense cards, payment approval limits and individual account access levels for up to 15 people (limited companies only). Plus, the ability to make multiple payments for things like salaries and suppliers at once.

Team starts from £25 a month with your first 3 months free if you sign up before 31/01/2025.

Meet (the) Team

Every Monzo business account comes with our free Lite plan as standard, with the option to upgrade to Pro… and now Team too.

It comes with everything you get with Lite and Pro, like Tax Pots for automatically putting money aside for tax every time you’re paid, invoicing, integrated accounting and so on, as well as these brand new, Team specific features:

Expense cards 

Time-saving meets team spending.

Employee expense cards that let selected team members spend up to limits you set for them and save everyone from endless expense admin. 

  • You see all spending – and your team members see their own, so you both have a handle on what goes in and out. 

  • You set the limits – setting monthly spend limits gives employees the freedom to spend, while you stay in control. 

  • You sail through admin – receipts, reasons for spending and VAT rates are all there in the app for you to check in one sweep.

Team members with expense cardholder access see a restricted version of the app. All it shows is their spending activity and limits. Nothing else.

They can’t see or access the business account, or move money around in any way.

Payment approvals 

Approve bigger payments easily.

Approve your team’s payments when they go over certain limits so they can do their jobs and you keep some control. 

Choose how much individual team members can spend on their card and send by bank transfer before they need admin approval.

Bulk payments

Make multiple payments in one go. 

Paying employees or suppliers doesn't have to mean copying across individual payment details or approving each and every payment. 

Uploading your payee details, rather than entering them manually, makes sure that your important payments go through properly. Meaning your team and suppliers get paid on time, every time.

Bigger teams

Get extra hands on deck without handing over full control. 

Limited companies can have up to 15 team members and set what individual team members can see and do. Available with Team which starts from £25 a month. 

Sole traders can have a team of 3, giving team members collaborator or expense cardholder access depending on whether you have Pro or Team, which start from £5 a month. Owners of limited business  can now manage their account as a team of 15, setting individual access levels to get extra hands on deck without handing over full control.
