Bank holiday delays

During bank holidays, some of our services might take longer.

Direct Debits don't happen on bank holidays (or weekends)

This means merchants won't take money from your account through Direct Debit on those days. Also, if you set up a new Direct Debit it'll take longer to appear in the app, but cancelling one will still be instant.

We don't send out card orders during bank holidays

And if your card order’s already on the way, it might be delayed by Royal Mail.

We don’t process withdrawals from Easy Access Savings Pots or Flexible Cash ISAs on bank holidays

If you make a withdrawal or schedule a withdrawal from one of these pots on a bank holiday, or on the Friday before a bank holiday, the money will arrive in your account by 5pm the next working day.

We don’t process withdrawals from Investment Pots on bank holidays

Please note that weekends and bank holidays may result in delays in the arrival of funds into the current account.

We don't process cheques during bank holidays

But you can still send them to us or upload them in the app.

  • Card payments

  • Faster Payments (bank transfers)

  • Standing orders

  • Monzo-to-Monzo payments

  • Withdrawals from Instant Access Savings Pots
