Setting up and using voicemail
Your Monzo Mobile plan comes with voicemail, so people can leave you a message when you can't take a call. Here's how to listen to your messages, set your greeting, and what to do if it's not working.
Listening to your voicemail
To listen to your messages, dial +447408888505 from your phone and follow the spoken menu. If you've got an iPhone, you might also see visual voicemail in the Phone app under the Voicemail tab. It lets you see a list of your messages and play them in any order without dialling in, and it sets itself up on most iPhones. If you don't see it, dial the number above instead.
Recording or changing your greeting
Your greeting is what people hear before they leave you a message.
On iPhone:
Open the Phone app.
Tap the Voicemail tab.
Tap Greeting in the top left, then record your greeting.
If you don't see visual voicemail, dial +447408888505 and follow the menu to record your greeting instead.
On Android:
Open the Phone app.
Dial +447408888505.
Follow the spoken menu to record or change your greeting.
Can I turn voicemail off?
Voicemail is part of how the mobile network is set up, so it stays on and can't be switched off. You don't have to use it, though. If you'd rather not pick up messages, you can leave them unread, or record a greeting that asks callers not to leave one.
If voicemail isn't working
Check that you've got service, restart your phone, and try dialling +447408888505 again. If messages still aren't coming through, chat to us in the Monzo app anytime.
