Known Locations

Added security supports a trio of controls as an extra layer of protection on payments and pot withdrawals over a daily allowance – to help stop fraudsters in their tracks, even if they get hold of your phone.

Choose at least two out of known locations, trusted contacts and secret QR codes for an extra layer of protection. We’ll only ever ask you to pass one, and the others are backups. Each one has different benefits, so you can pick the ones that suit you best.

To get started with added security, head to “Privacy & Security” settings. You can get there by tapping on your profile at the top left of the Overview screen, then tapping on “Settings”. From there head to “Privacy & Security” and tap on “Added Security”.

How do known locations work?

You can choose up to 5 known locations - like home or work that you need to be in when making payments and pot withdrawals over a daily allowance. If you are outside of your chosen known locations, the transfer will not complete. This helps protect you from fraud if your phone is stolen or you're a target of shoulder surfing (when someone looks over your shoulder to steal access to personal information like your PIN).
