What types of ISAs does Monzo offer?
Monzo offers Cash ISAs and Stocks & Shares ISAs.
What is the annual ISA allowance, and how does it work?
You can add up to £20,000 each tax year across your ISA accounts, and any interest earn will be tax-free - that’s your annual ISA allowance.
The taxes you pay depend on your circumstances and could change in the future.
What is the difference between a Cash ISA and a Stocks & Shares ISA?
A Cash ISA is a savings account - you will earn tax-free interest on any money you save. A Stocks & Shares ISA is an investment account - you may earn investment returns on any money you save but you could get back less than you invest.
The taxes you pay depend on your circumstances and could change in the future.
I already have an ISA elsewhere. Can I transfer it to Monzo?
Currently, you can only transfer Stocks & Shares ISAs into Monzo.
Can I pay into both a Monzo Cash ISA and a Stocks & Shares ISA in the same tax year?
You can add up to £20,000 across all your ISAs (whether they're with Monzo or somewhere else) each tax year.
Is all my money protected in an ISA?
Your eligible cash deposits, including savings, are protected up to £120,000 per person. This includes the money in your cash ISA.
Your eligible investments are protected up to £85,000 per person. This includes the money in your Stocks & Shares ISA.
What's a flexible ISA?
A flexible cash ISA lets you take money out and put it back in within the same tax year, without it counting towards your ISA allowance. It can save you from losing your ISA allowance if you need to access your savings temporarily. Our Cash ISAs and Stocks & Shares ISAs are both flexible.
