Adding money from outside the UK
You can use your account's International Bank Account Number (IBAN) to receive payments from other countries or currencies.
We don’t charge any fees for receiving international payments that have already been converted to British pounds. For payments in other currencies, we give you the market currency exchange rate, plus a 1% conversion fee.
So, for example, if you receive a payment in another currency that’s worth £100, we’ll convert it to British pounds and charge a £1 fee. The maximum fee for each transaction is £1,000.
We recommend having the payment sent in the sender's local currency, if possible
That way you’ll always get the market currency exchange rate, plus our 1% fee.
It’s also worth checking with the sender what their bank charges, to see whether receiving British pounds would work out cheaper.
