How to activate your YouTube Premium Lite membership
Head to your Perks, Max, or Max Family Home in the Monzo app and tap the YouTube Premium Lite tile.
We’ll take you over to Google to sign in or create an account.
Follow the quick on-screen steps to activate your YouTube Premium Lite membership.
Already got YouTube Premium or YouTube Premium Lite?
You'll need to cancel your current membership before you can activate this Monzo benefit. When you follow the setup steps in the Monzo app, Google will recognise your account and will show you an 'Activate in two steps' page and guide you to cancel your current membership first.
Depending on how you originally signed up, the Google activation page will direct you to cancel through YouTube, the Apple App Store, or the Google Play Store:
If you pay YouTube directly: your cancellation updates right away and you can finish activating Premium Lite through Monzo.
If you pay through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store: Once you cancel the membership, please wait about 15 minutes before returning to the Monzo app to finish activating Premium Lite. There is a short delay while your mobile app store updates YouTube's system
You’ll keep your existing access until the end of your Youtube billing period, and then your new Premium Lite membership through Monzo will start automatically.
Please note: YouTube will not refund any remaining time left on your current membership. If you are moving from YouTube Premium, you will lose access to features not included in Premium Lite, such as ad-free access to the YouTube Music app.
