    Questions? Answers.

What's the difference between a regular savings account and an ISA?

It mostly comes down to tax. With a regular savings account, you might pay tax on the interest you earn if it goes over your Personal Savings Allowance. But any interest you earn from savings in an ISA is entirely tax-free.

The taxes you pay depend on your circumstances and could change in the future.

How do I know which Monzo savings product is right for me?

This can come down to how often you need your cash:

    • Instant Access: Best if you want to dip in and out whenever you like.

    • Select Access: Best if you want a higher rate for fewer withdrawals.

    • Fixed Rate: Best if you want to earn our highest rate on savings you won't need for a while.

    • Cash ISA: Best if you're saving a larger amount and want to keep your interest tax-free.

The taxes you pay depend on your circumstances and could change in the future.

Can I have both a regular Savings Pot and an ISA?

Yes! You can mix and match. You might use a regular Savings Pot for a quick holiday fund and an ISA for a long-term stash. You can even open multiple Instant Access Cash ISA Pots to organise your tax-free savings in your own way.

The taxes you pay depend on your circumstances and could change in the future.

What is the ISA allowance for the 2026/27 tax year?

The ISA allowance is £20,000. This is the total amount you can pay into all your ISAs (Cash, Stocks & Shares, etc.) between 6 April 2026 and 5 April 2027.

Can I save together with someone else?

Absolutely. If you open a Monzo Joint Account, you can set up joint Savings Pots. You'll both be able to see the balance, move money in, and earn interest on your shared goals.

How do I start saving for my child?

You can open a Monzo for Under 16s account. It's a free account for kids aged 6–15 that lets them have their own card and app.

How can I see interest rates for Savings Pots I may have but can no longer open?

You can find interest rate for Savings Pots like these here.
