Paying in a cheque

You can pay in a cheque using freepost. For higher-value cheques, you might feel more comfortable using tracked postage instead (but you don't have to).

Using freepost:

  1. Write your account number on the back, in the top left-hand corner. You can find this in your app, in account details.
  2. We suggest taking a photo of the front and back of the cheque as a copy.
  3. Pop it in an envelope addressed to 'FREEPOST MONZO' (Don't write anything else or it won't make it to us!)
  4. It'll take up to 3 weeks to see the money in your account (around 7-10 working days to reach us, and 5 days for us to process).

If you want to use tracked postage:
Follow steps 1 and 2 above, then pop it in an envelope addressed to:
Monzo, 6th Floor, 38 Finsbury Square, London, EC2A 1PX

Please don't write FREEPOST MONZO on the front - it won't make it to us! Your cheque will probably arrive faster, but we'll still need 5 working days to process it.
