Trends: What are custom categories, how to edit and add them

With Monzo Plus, Premium, Extra, Perks and Max, you can group and label purchases your way. There are two ways to create Custom Categories.

From the Trends tab

  1. Tap the 'Trends' tab.

  2. Select the 'Spending' tab above the graph.

  3. Scroll down and select 'Create your own category'.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

By selecting a payment

  1. On the 'Home' screen, select a transaction in the 'Activity' feed.

  2. Select 'Create or pick multiple categories'.

  3. Tap 'Create +'.

  4. Give your category a name and icon.

  5. When you're finished tap 'Save'.

Back on the transaction, you'll be able to mark your transaction as a repeating payment. If you do so, we'll allocate the category you created to it. That way, you won't have to do it in the future.

If you want to edit or remove a custom category

  • Tap your plan tab..

  • Scroll down to and tap 'Custom categories" from the list of benefits.

  • Select the category you'd like to edit and, well, edit it.
