Opening a joint account
It's easy to open a joint account with us, with no long forms or new ID checks needed.
To get started:
Tap the Home icon in the menu bar.
Tap the + on the top right of the screen.
Tap Apply for a joint account.
You can either choose a co-owner from your contacts or tap Invite someone to generate a unique link. Just so you know, the link expires within 24 hours for security reasons.
What to do if the invitation link isn't working:
Make sure both of you are running the latest version of the Monzo app.
Both of you must have Find profile by phone number switched on under Privacy & Security.
You both need to have a Monzo Ireland account.
The phone number you have for them must be the same one they have on their Monzo account, including the country code.
A few things to note:
You can only open a joint account if you already have a personal account with us.
We also can't convert a joint account into a personal one. If one person wants to close the joint account, we will close it for both of you.
