What is a Monzo joint account?

A joint account is a separate account that you share with another person. It's designed to make managing shared finances easy, whether you're a couple, roommates, or family.

Key features of a joint account:

  • It’s separate from your personal account: Your personal account remains private and is not visible to the other joint account owner.

  • Two debit cards: You’ll get matching pearlescent white debit cards to track your joint spending and saving, all in one place.

  • Own account details: The joint account has its own IBAN, so you can use it to pay bills or save for shared goals.

  • Equal ownership: Ownership of the joint account is split equally between both people. This means both account holders have full access to all the money and features – so you should only open one with someone you trust.
