Switching from Monzo to another bank

Once it's live, if you want to switch your Monzo account to another bank, you’ll need to start the switch with your new bank.
Monzo can’t begin a switch out for you — the bank you’re moving to manages the process.
How to start your Switch:
Contact your new bank or use their app or website.
Tell them you want to switch your account from Monzo.
Follow their instructions to start the switch.
Once the switch is set up, your new bank will contact Monzo and handle the process between banks.
What happens on your switch date:
On your switch date, we’ll:
send your Monzo balance to your new bank, and
close your Monzo account only if you chose that option as part of the switch.
If you didn’t choose to close your Monzo account, it will stay open.
Closing your Monzo Account:
If your Monzo account stays open after the switch, you can close it any time in the app: Profile → Settings → Close account.
How long it takes:
Most switches complete within 10 working days, but timings can vary.
