How to switch your bank account to Monzo

How to start your Switch:

  1. Open the Monzo app

  2. Go the the Home screen

  3. Tap the three-dot menu on your Monzo card and select Switch to Monzo.

You’ll be asked to choose whether you want to close your old account and to pick a switch date (this must be a working day).

What happens next:

Once you start your switch, Monzo and your old bank handle the process between them.

On your switch date, we’ll:

  • move your Direct Debits and standing orders, and

  • move your balance to Monzo if you chose that option.

Your old account will only be closed if you selected this during the switch.

How long it takes:

We aim to complete most switches within 10 working days, but timings can vary. You usually won’t need to do anything unless we get in touch.
