Sending money with Monzo
You can send money to another Monzo user or by bank transfer.
To another Monzo user
Open Payments, select their name, enter the amount and tap Send.
You can undo a payment immediately after sending it. The undo timer is 15 seconds by default and can be extended to 60 seconds in Settings.
By bank transfer using IBAN
Go to Payments → Pay someone → Pay someone new → Add bank details.
Enter:
The IBAN
The full name on the account
Check the expected arrival time before confirming.
If the app says “Should arrive in seconds”, the payment should go by SEPA Instant.
If the app shows a later arrival time, or no timeframe, the payment will go by SEPA Credit Transfer.
Standard SEPA Credit Transfers usually arrive the same banking day or next banking day.
If a transfer was rejected, the money never left your account. Check the details and try again.
If it shows as completed but hasn’t arrived, you can contact us in the app and we’ll check it.
If you sent money by mistake, contact us as soon as possible. We can request the receiving bank to return the funds, but this isn’t guaranteed.
