Card Refunds

When a shop or business refunds a card payment, the money is sent back through the card network.

Card refunds can take up to 7 working days to reach your Monzo account after the merchant has processed and submitted the refund.

Once we receive the refund, it will appear automatically in your Monzo feed.

Refunds are sent to your bank account, not to your physical card. Even if your card was replaced, expired or cancelled, the refund will still arrive in your Monzo account.

If it’s been more than 7 working days, ask the merchant for the 23-digit ARN (Acquirer Reference Number). This helps us trace the refund through the card network.

Once you have the ARN, contact us in the app by tapping here and we’ll investigate it for you.
