Changing your name
We can help you update your preferred name, your legal name, or both at the same time. How we do this depends on the type of change you need to make.
Changing your preferred name: Your preferred name is the name you’d like us to call you and the name that appears in your Monzo app. To change this, you won’t need to provide ID.
Changing your legal name: If you’re changing your legal name, we’ll need to see a form of identification. This can be a valid photo ID with your new name on it, such as a passport, driving licence, or national ID card, or a legal document confirming your name change.
