You may have to pay other costs, taxes or charges related to your Monzo account, which are outside of our control and not charged by us. For example, other banks may charge you for sending money to your Monzo account.

Cards and cash

Issuing a debit card: €0

Cash withdrawal in Spain: First 3 ATM transactions in a 30-day period are free. After that, the fee for any additional withdrawal will be set by the provider of the ATM.

Cash withdrawal in foreign currency outside of Spain: First 3 ATM transactions in a 30-day period are free. After that, the fee for any additional withdrawal will be €3. There may also be local fees for withdrawals and/or foreign exchange fees for non-euro withdrawals.

There are no cash withdrawal fees for Basic Bank Account customers.

In line with the additional provision on ATM cash withdrawals in Spanish payment services law, for debit cash withdrawals at ATMs from other third-party networks in Spain, Monzo may pass on to you the commission charged to Monzo by the ATM owner, but never in an amount greater than the commission amount shown to you on the ATM screen before you confirm the withdrawal and without applying any further Monzo fee for that transaction.

Charge for a replacement debit card in Spain:

We don’t charge a fee for replacing cards which have expired, are faulty, have been stolen, have been swallowed by an ATM, or where we’ve cancelled your card because we’re concerned about fraud.

We may charge you a €5 fee to replace cards in other circumstances (for example, if you lose your card), once you have used up any free replacement allowance we may offer from time to time.

Charge for a replacement debit card outside Spain:

We may charge you a €35 international card fee, and may also charge the €5 replacement fee if you’ve used up your free allowance.

We’ll take any applicable fee from your Monzo account as soon as you order the card.

Other banking services

Payment investigations and corrections with other banks due to your error when making a transfer: €0

Unpaid direct debit (rejecting payment on due date): €0

Reversal / return of already paid direct debit: €0

Issuing standard account or balance certificates: €0
