Monzo Business: Team member spending limits

If your business uses Business Team, Admins can set spending limits for team members.

These limits help businesses control spending and keep oversight of team activity. Depending on what’s available, Admins may be able to set limits for:

  • card spending

  • cash withdrawals

Team member limits sit under the business account’s overall limits. This means a team member’s payment or withdrawal may still be declined if the business account’s overall limit has already been reached.

Only Admins can change team member limits. To update a limit, go to Team members in the Monzo app, choose the team member, then update their spending controls or limit settings.

Changing a team member’s limit does not guarantee a declined payment will go through. A payment could still be declined for another reason, such as:

  • not enough money in the business account

  • the card being frozen or access being locked

  • cash withdrawals not being allowed for that cardholder

  • the business account’s overall limit being reached

  • the payment type not being supported

Admins can check and update team member limits in the app.

During Early Access, SEPA transfers aren’t available, so SEPA transfer limits and SEPA payment approvals don’t apply yet.
