Under 16s: Safety features
To keep your child safe, every Under 16s account has restrictions you can manage in the app. This includes parental controls to limit spending and block certain types of merchants, as well as the ability to add a family member to help you look after the account. You can learn more about these features in our Family Controls help article.
Spending Limits:
A standard daily spending limit of €250 and a cash machine withdrawal limit of €100 are in place.
You can adjust these limits in the app by going to the Under 16s account, tapping the three dots, and selecting Spending limits.
You can also turn on or off features like online, contactless, and cash payments.
Blocked Categories:
We automatically block categories unsuitable for children, like gambling. You can view these under Blocked categories in the app.
Other Safety Measures:
Under 16s can only receive money, not send it.
Only you, the parent or guardian, can change your child's limits.
