New to Monzo 10% cashback: how does it work?

We’re giving new Monzo customers 10% cashback on their next purchase at Sainsbury’s, Netflix and Just Eat from 22nd July to 20th August 2024.

When does the offer start and end?

You can earn 10% cashback at Sainsbury's, Netflix and Just Eat between 23rd July and 20th August 2024, when you successfully sign up for a personal Monzo current account. Each offer is single use and available on any Monzo personal account, joint account or Flex credit card. The maximum cashback you can earn at Sainsbury’s and Just Eat is £100.

The offer runs for 30 days. It ends at midnight on 20th August 2024. This means, if you became a Monzo customer on 8th August 2024, you’d have 13 days until the 20th August 2024 to redeem cashback. If you became a Monzo customer on the 19th August 2024, you’d have two days to redeem cashback.

When your 10% cashback offer ends, you’ll be able to earn between 2-10% on lots of other well-known brands. You can check your app for the latest offers.

What merchants does it apply to?

You have a selection of cashback offers including 10% at Sainsbury's, Netflix and Just Eat as well as other well-known brands. You’ll get fresh offers at least every month, so keep checking your app.

How many times can I get cashback with this offer?

Each offer is single use. You can earn cashback when you spend at Sainsburys (in-store or online), Netflix and Just Eat by using your Monzo account.

But your rewards won’t end there. As a Monzo customer, you'll get fresh offers at least every month from lots of top brands, and you can activate them in your app. Simply pick your offers, shop and earn!

Is there a limit to how much cashback I can get?

For Sainsbury’s and Just Eat the maximum cashback you earn is £100.

How soon can I redeem and activate cashback?

As soon as you’re a Monzo customer you can head to the app, activate your 10% offers then make your purchases.

Here’s how to activate cashback offers

  • Open your home screen on the Monzo app

  • Select ‘Earn cashback on your spending’ under the section labelled ‘Suggested actions’

  • From the cashback screen you’ll be asked to accept our Ts&Cs

  • Once accepted, activate your Sainsbury’s, Netflix and Just Eat offers

You’ll see other merchant offers to activate too. These aren’t part of the 10% new to Monzo offer, so they may be lower than 10%. You can still earn cashback on these brands at the same time.

Can I use this cashback offer on a repeat payment?

Yes, you can earn your 10% cashback on a repeat payment, like an existing Netflix subscription. You’ll only get it on one payment, if it falls within the offer timeframe.

Can I use cashback offers online?

You can check the app for specific cashback details – some offers will only apply to in-store or online purchases.

How soon do I get my cashback?

We show you instantly how much you’ve earned and your money will usually arrive within 3-4 days. We pay it into your Cashback Pot, which is separate to your main balance. As soon as it’s available, you can withdraw it instantly into your personal account.

If you get a refund after we’ve paid you cashback, we’ll take back the cashback. You can read full details in the cashback terms and conditions.
