Sending money with Bizum
To send money with Bizum:
Open the Monzo app.
Tap Payments.
Tap Pay someone.
Choose Send with Bizum.
Choose a contact or enter their phone number.
Enter the amount.
Check the recipient’s name, phone number and amount carefully.
Confirm the payment.
Bizum payments are usually instant, so make sure the details are correct before you send.
If the recipient isn’t registered with Bizum
They’ll receive a text inviting them to sign up.
If they don’t register within 48 hours, the payment is cancelled automatically and the money is returned to your account.
Sent money to the wrong person?
Get in touch with us as soon as possible.
If the payment hasn’t been completed yet, we may be able to help.
If it’s already complete, we can ask the recipient’s bank to contact them about returning the payment, but we can’t guarantee they’ll agree.
